After respondents submit a survey or form, you need to decide what they should see or do next.
You may want to confirm that their submission has been received, explain the next step, show a different message based on their answers, or direct them to another page.
In Porsline, Endings let you control this final stage of the respondent experience.
Customising an End Page is available with Pro and Enterprise accounts, while Free accounts use the default ending. Multiple Endings are also available with Pro and Enterprise.
If your workflow requires respondents to be redirected automatically to another URL immediately after submission, Redirect after submit is currently an Enterprise feature. Review the Porsline pricing plans for current plan availability.
What is an End Page?
An End Page is what respondents see after submitting their answers when End page is selected under After submit.
Use it to confirm that the submission has been received and explain what respondents should expect or do next.
For example, an event registration form could end with:
Label:
Your registration has been received
Description:
We'll send the joining details to the email address you provided before the event.
For an internal employee request form, the End Page could instead explain the review process or display relevant follow-up information.
A useful End Page answers the respondent's next practical question:
What happens now?
How to add an End Page
To add an End Page:
- Open the survey from My Surveys, or create a new survey.
- Go to the Create phase.
- Select Endings.
- Add an End Page to the survey.
- You can create multiple End Pages when different respondents need to see different messages or outcomes.

What happens after submission?
Under After submit, the available workflow can include:
- End page
- Redirect to URL
Choose End page when respondents should see a Porsline End Page after submitting.
Choose Redirect to URL when respondents should be sent directly to another webpage without first seeing a Porsline End Page.
These options serve different workflows, so choose based on whether respondents need to read a confirmation or instruction before leaving the survey.
Plan note: Direct Redirect after submit is currently listed as an Enterprise feature.
How to set the End Page Label
Enter the main message in Label.
Keep it short and specific, for example:
- Registration complete
- We've received your request
- Thank you for your feedback
- Your submission has been recorded
You can type @ to insert an answer from a previous question or a Custom Variable available in your survey.
For example, if you collected the respondent's name earlier, you could use it in the End Page instead of showing the same generic message to everyone.
Custom Variables are currently an Enterprise feature.

How to use Description
Use Description for information respondents need after submitting.
Instead of repeating a generic thank-you message, explain the next step.
Example: Recruitment form
Label:
Application received
Description:
Our recruitment team will review completed applications and contact candidates who move to the next stage using the contact details provided in the form.
Example: Webinar registration
Label:
You're registered
Description:
We'll send the access details and any event updates to the email address you provided.
You can also type @ in Description to insert previous answers, scores, or Custom Variables when they are relevant to the ending.

How to add an image or video
Enable Image or Video when visual content supports the final message.
Add an image
- Select Image.
- Click Choose.
- Select the image from your device.
The image must be in JPG, PNG, or GIF format and no larger than 2 MB.
Depending on the workflow, you might use:
- An event confirmation graphic.
- A visual explaining the next step.
- A result-related image.
- A branded confirmation visual.
Add a video
Select Video, then enter the relevant video link in the field provided.

How to adjust the layout on mobile and desktop
If you add an image, review how the End Page appears separately on:
- Mobile
- Desktop
Adjust the layout so the image, Label, Description, and any action button remain clear on both screen sizes.

How to let respondents share your survey
Enable Share survey when respondents should be able to share the survey after completing it.
This can be useful for open surveys such as:
- Public opinion surveys.
- Open research surveys.
- Public competitions.
- Event feedback forms available to all attendees.
If the survey is intended for a restricted audience, consider whether allowing respondents to share the link fits your distribution plan.
How to set the Default ending
When your survey contains multiple End Pages, choose which one should be used when no other ending path applies.
Enable Default ending for that page.
Think of the Default ending as the fallback End Page for respondents who do not meet the conditions of another configured ending.

How to create different End Pages for different respondents
You do not have to show the same ending to everyone.
Create multiple End Pages and use Logic to direct respondents to different endings based on their answers or scores.
For example, in a customer feedback survey you could create:
- An End Page for satisfied customers with a loyalty or follow-up link.
- An End Page for customers who reported a problem, confirming that their feedback was recorded and directing them to the appropriate support channel.
- A general End Page for all remaining respondents.
Logic determines which ending each respondent reaches.
This makes the ending part of the survey flow rather than a generic message displayed to everyone.
How to use the Reload/Redirect Button
How to use the Reload/Redirect Button
Enable Reload/Redirect Button when you want respondents to see an End Page first and then choose whether to continue to another destination.
After enabling it:
- Enter the button Label.
- Choose the button destination.
Available destinations include:
- Survey Link (Reload the survey)
- The survey's public report link
- A custom link
For example, after a training evaluation you could display:
Label:
Thank you for your feedback
and add a button:
View course resources
that takes respondents to the relevant resources page.
How to reload the survey automatically
Enable Auto Reload when the same device needs to be ready for another response after a specified number of seconds.
For example, suppose a tablet is being used for on-site event feedback.
After one attendee submits:
- The End Page appears.
- The configured time passes.
- The survey reloads automatically.
- The device is ready for the next respondent.
This avoids having to reopen the survey manually after each submission.
How to redirect respondents directly to another URL
Under After submit, choose Redirect to URL when respondents should be sent directly to another page instead of seeing a Porsline End Page.
Enter the destination under:
Respondents are directed to the following URL
Possible destinations include:
- A confirmation page on your website.
- Post-event resources.
- Registration instructions.
- A relevant help article.
- Another page related to the respondent's next step.
You can also use @ in the URL field when your setup requires a previous answer or Custom Variable to be included dynamically.
Plan note: Redirect after submit is currently listed as an Enterprise feature. Check the Porsline pricing plans for current availability.

What's the difference between the Reload/Redirect Button and Redirect to URL?
Reload/Redirect Button
The respondent:
- Submits the form.
- Sees the End Page.
- Clicks the button to continue to another destination.
Use this when respondents should read a confirmation, result, or instruction before leaving the survey.
Redirect to URL
The respondent:
- Submits the form.
- Is immediately redirected to the configured URL.
No Porsline End Page is shown.
Use this when respondents should move directly to another page after submission.
How to use URL labels
When you configure several redirect destinations, use URL label to make them easier to identify.
For example:
- Resources page
- Support page
- Registration confirmation
Clear URL labels make multiple destinations easier to manage when working with several Endings or Logic paths.
Before publishing your End Pages
Preview each ending and test every path before sharing the survey.
Check that:
- The Label clearly confirms what happened.
- Description explains the next step when necessary.
- Previous answers and Custom Variables display correctly.
- Each Logic path reaches the intended End Page.
- Redirect destinations open the correct URL.
- Mobile and desktop layouts display correctly.
- Auto Reload behaves as expected when enabled.
